The Elk City Journal, Thursday, June 3, 1937, pg 3 Hunter Funeral Held Wednesday Afternoon
Funeral services for W. H. Hunter, farmer who lives one-half mile east of Carpenter, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Carpenter church with Rev. Trent of Hammon officiating.
Mr. Hunter died Monday, May 31, at his home following an illness of about a month. He was born in Illinois, July 8, 1948. His second(sic) marriage was to Josephine Fidler near Hammon on April 17, 1910.
Survivors are his widow, Martha Hunter and Willie Hunter of Carpenter, John Hunter of Weltie, Tom Hunter and Mrs. Cynthia Randall of Minco, Mrs. Eva Bogges of New Mexico, Mrs. Ida Renior of Moorewood, Mrs. Iona Randall of Christine, Texas, and two step-children, Charles Fidler of Canute and Frank Fidler of Amarillo.
Burial was in the Red Hill cemetery near Hammon. (Contributed by Rob Walker)
