Capt. William Hall was baptised 8 Jun 1651 at Barnstable, married to Esther Matthews and moved to Mansfield, Conn., where he purchased land in 1695. He was 76 when he died and his wife about 70.

Married in the 1670s or 80s to Esther and resided at Yarmouth, now North Dennis, Massachusetts until moving to Mansfield Twp., Tolland Co., Conn. where we was among the first land owners, having purchesed a 1000 acre tract of land on 24 June 1695.

William was appointed ensign of the company or trainband of Mansfield in 1704, lieutenant in 1714, and captain in 1720. He sweved as selectman for Mansield in 1709/10, and in 1717 was a representative or deputy for the town of Mansfield.

Headstones for William and Esther still stand.

Both his and his wife's grave stones are in Mansfield connecticut.

Occupation: He held the office of captain, and it is possible that he served in the Pequot Wars.
