William was the second husband of Maria (Marietjie) Ferreira. After conspiring to murder her third husband, Carlos Ferreira, police are investigating the possibility that she was involved in the murder of William/Alan)

"Her third husband was supposed to have died in a "hijacking", but instead, Maria (Marietjie) Ferreira is to spend seven years behind bars for the "murder" she tried to stage. Ferreira, 53, pleaded guilty in the Regional Court in Mbombela on Wednesday to conspiracy to commit murder, Netwerk24 reported. He arrested Ferreira at a filling station in White River after she promised a man R20 000 to kill her husband, 55-year-old Carlos Ferreira. However, the "assassin" turned out to be a member of the Hawks. Hall said the couple had visited friends in White River on the weekend of March 19. Ferreira apparently wanted her husband killed during a "hijacking" on their way to Mozambique. The couple managed the Primo Cabanas Lodge in Mozambique. Mr Alan Hepburn, was murdered on February 5, 2012. He was stabbed seven times outside his home on a smallholding near Bronkhorstspruit by an unknown suspect. Police are investigating Ferreira’s possible involvement."
