About William W. Hopkins
From “Work Family History”, vol. I (1969) & vol. II (1994), compiled by Von Gail Hamilton.
William was a lumberman and carpenter of Georgeville, PA, having been taught by his uncle, John B. Work.
The W. as his middle name stood for nothing. He added it later in life to distinguish himself from another William Hopkins, and chose W. for his mother's family name of Work.
For several years, and at the time of his death, he was an adjuster for the Patron's Mutual Fire Insurance Co. He was a staunch United Presbyterian and an Elder in the church all of his adult life.
