Roland Jenkes (1446 - Unknown) m. 1479 to Mary Moore (1460 - 1500) parents of:
William Jenks (Gynkes) (1480 - 1571) m. 1508 to Elizabeth Adams (abt. 1490 - Unknown)
parents of:
- Hugh Jenks (1510 - 7/10/1551) n. Anne Wentworth (1515 - 1569)
- Elizabeth Jenks (1510 - 12/16/1558) m. 1536 to Richard Rich (1496 - 6/12/1567)
- John Jenks (abt. 1511 - Unknown)
William Jenks (Gynkes) (1480 to 1571) - Born in Clun, Shropshire, England, in about 1480. William was a Tax Collector by occupation. Father of Hugh, John, and Elizabeth, he married an Elizabeth Adams in 1508. Believed to be the progenitor of Jenks families of both Clun and Clunbury. The presumption is based on his being the only one of that name who was taxed in 1524 at Clunbury and Brompton. He is also believed to be the same William Jenks, Tax Collector, of Munslow at an earlier time. The Munslow Jenkses are of the family of the parish of Eaton-under-Haywood, which is nearby. The parishes of Clun and Clunbury are within a few miles of each other, as is Eaton. He died in 1571 in London, England.
Elizabeth Adams (abt. 1490 to Unknown) - Born about 1490, Elizabeth married William Jenkes in 1508/9 in London, Middlesex, England. Mother of Hugh, Elizabeth, and John Jenks.
