William came to Australia on the ship “Batavia” in 1818 as a convict for stealing 2 shawls and a towel, and was sentenced to 7 years. He was 5’ 5 ¼” of fair complexion with brown hair and blue/hazel eyes. He was a porter in England and in Australia was a shepherd.
