Pop Carey was born on Pacific Av in Jersey City NJ . He attended school till 16 , then was a helper on his brother Thomas coal truck . Later they lived on Pacific Av in Jersey City . They attended All Saints Church on Pacific Av , where Pops and his siblings made thier first communion and confirmation .
Pops father Patrick Carey died in 1937 and his mother Anna in 1943, SHe unfortunately perished in a house fire at Pacific Av. I visited the site in the early 2000's and apparently 2 or 3 houses burned to the ground . Another researcher in NJ told me that the fire started in a factory across the street and blowing cinders started the fire in the residental dwellings.
Pop's parents are buried in Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City NJ . Possible his older brother Edward is there too . Edward just disappeared afer the 1900 census and was just too young to have struck out on his own. Further research is needed on Edward .
