- According to my mother's (Gloria Cahill's) records, her grandfather died in Kimberley in 1934. However, the death records from St Cyprian's Anglican Church in Kimberley show the death of a William Francis Wallace in 1931. As a Catherine Wallace was buried from the same church, and as my mother's records indicate that William's wife was a Catherine Wallace (nee Gordon), it seems likely the two were husband and wife, and I've altered the records accordingly.
- There is a record of liquidation and distribution accounts in the NAAIS database of the SA National Archives (http://www.national.archsrch.gov.za/sm300cv/smws/sm30ddf0?201303160...), which names both William Joseph Francis Wallace and Catherine Wallace (nee Gordon). The date given is 1919.
