William1 King (199) was born in 1711 at Stafford Co., Va. As of 1711, he was also known as (199) This William King (199), eldest son of William Alfred King and Sophia Burgess, is sometimes incorrectly referred to as William Valentine King or Valentine King. He married Elizabeth Edwards (271), daughter of John Edwards (272) and Jane Arrington (273), on 21 May 1738. He was Clerk of the Court and Justice of Stafford County between 1742 and 1760. He died in 1778 at Dumfries, Prince William Co., Va.

In 1738, William Valentine King (b. 1715) married Elizabeth Edwards (b. 1718). They had 12 children. His great-grand parents were William and Judith Peyton King of Virginia. Paternal ancestry extended beyond Robert and Hannah Scarborough King to John King (of Dodebroke) and Agnes Mortimer (daughter of Philippa Plantagent and Edmund Mortimer) prior to 1415 in England. Descendants lived in the Eastern and Southern states.

Includes Alcocke, Browning, Daniel/Daniels, Edwards, Ewell, Woodson and related families.

Most records show his middle name to be Valentine, a few show Alfred. Both of these names are in his family.
