About William Lee, of Ulster & Richmond
Born circa 1680 or earlier, either in Ulster or in Surry County, Virginia. ABSOLUTELY NO RELATION TO RICHARD LEE M. ANN CONSTABLE. NOT THE SON OF RICHARD "THE SCHOLAR" LEE. NOT THE SON OF ANY SON OF RICHARD LEE M. ANN CONSTABLE. NOT RELATED THIS SIDE OF THE NEOLITHIC!!!
There are at least *fourteen* closely related Y-DNA lines running to this person, whoever he was. He is presumed to have been the same person as the William Lee of Richmond County who married Dorothy Taylor, but although all the lines match each other very closely, none of them match the Stratford Hall Lee line at all. http://leedna.com/dnaresults.php?id=87

"As the Hanks section of Abraham Lincoln's ancestor table compiled by Gary Boyd Roberts in Ancestors of American Presidents, 2009 edition, 2012 reprint, largely followed my conclusion in the New England Ancestors article, a corrected table, beginning with Nancy (Hanks) Lincoln, #3, is presented here. (As Abraham Lincoln is #1 in his own ahnentafel, his mother is #3, and all numbers follow the normal ahnentafel numbering system.) ...
- *15. Ann "Nanny" Lee, c. 1742 post 1793, whose father, William Lee, was the son of William and Dorothy (Taylor) Lee, this last a daughter of Elizabeth (_____) Taylor. These Lees were apparently not related to the Lees of Stratford Hall, forebears of Declaration of Independence signers Richard Henry and Francis Lightfoot Lee, of Confederate General Robert E. Lee, and of Elisha Lingan Hall, mentioned above.7
