About William Livermore

age 14 to 21, he was bound as apprentice to Joshia Brown, a Boston merchant. Afterwards, he remained in Boston four more years. He removed to a plantation called Phipps, Canada,after incorporated as Jay, in Oxford County, Maine (since renamed Canton).

He was justice of the peace and in 1798 was one of the assistant assessors in Rumford,

Maine.

In 1802 he had rank of major at a muster of the militia in Norway, Maine.

In 1806 he moved to Hallowell, Maine.
