William Richard Lloyd's occupation was a Resident Magistrate at Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, then a Butcher between 1848 and 1849 at Fort Beaufort, Eastern Cape, after which he became a Shopkeeper in 1854.

He and Catherine Devine were married in about 1840.
