In the name of God Amen the 2nd day of May 1771, I William Lusk of Augusta County being sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory and calling to mind my mortality knowing that it's appointed for all men to die, do make and ordain this as my last will and testament, that is to say principally and first of all recommend my soul to God that gave it, and my body to the dust to be decently interred at the discreation of my executors and for such worldly Estate whomwith it hath blessed Godto bless me I give and bequeath and dispose of this in manner form following: First I order that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid by my executors. Imprimus - I give and bequeath unto my sons John and William Lusk in Carolina five shillings each of them to be paid by my executors. Item - I give unto my daughter Mary Phillips five pounds to be paid to her by my executors. Item - I give and bequeath unto my son Joseph ten pounds to be paid unto him over and above his porportion of my estate to be paid by my executors before any division of my estate. Item - I order and it is my will that all my estate, real and personal, that is to land and moveables be sold at public auction, except the household furniture and my sorrel horse and saddle, by my executors and a good sufficient title deed or conveyance in fee simple made by my executors for my land to the purchasers and the whole divided after the deduction of my just debts and the above legacies mentioned in the following manner - Viz my beloved wife Elizabeth, my son Joseph, my daughters Elizabeth, Sarah and Margaret each of them to have an equal share of the whole to them and their heirs. Item - I give over and above her proportion all my estate to my Wife my household furniture and a sorrel horse and her saddle to be at her disposal. Lastly, I constitute and appoint my beloved wife Elizabeth with Andrew Hays Sen. and Samuel Lyle executors and executors of this my last will and do hereby revoke and disown all other wills and executors by me heretofore made. "Among The Families Mentioned As Business And Church Associates is The Vance Family. He And Elizabeth Are Given As Members Of The New Province Meeting - House In Augusta County. In 1744 William Senior's Will Was Proved In Augusta County And Executed In 1770 With The Witnesses And Executors Being Andrew Hays Senior, Daniel And James Lyle, Thomas Vance And Samuel Lyle.

William Lusk's estate was appraised by Henry McClung, Daniel Lyle, Wm. Ramsey. Statement of the part of above estate willed to wife Elizabeth Lusk, 12 Sep. 1771. [Deed Book 4 , p. 478} William Lusk went to Augusta Co., VA in 1744. [Morton. History of Rockbridge Co., VA]. Also, we find in the county Court Judgements, Augusta Co., VA Aug. 1749 the following: "William Armstrong vs William Lusk - Debt. Bond dated 24 Nov. 1744 I William Lusk, of Lancaster Co., Pa., Paxton Township." [Chalkley. Augusta Co., VA Records, Vol. I, p. 302]. We are not sure of the location of William Lusk when he arrived in Augusta Co., VA. Augusta County Court Records Book I, p. 46 dated 13 May 1746 states: "Wm. Lusk petition for turning the road around his place is granted." He apparently settled on Mill Creek, near Acres Falls. In May 1751 [Augusta Co. Deed Book 3, p. 365] the sales transaction when Borden & Company sold 270 acres to Isaac Gray the land descriptions names "corner Wm. Lusk, Acres Falls on Mill Creek." When the 270 acres was sold 4 June 1752 by Isaac Gray and Mary.
