William Maccubbin was born to immigrant father John MacCubbin and Eleanor Carrol. He married Sarah Westall/Westfall about 1702 in All Hallows Parrish, Anne Arundel, Maryland. William Maccubbin and his three brothers inherited a 200 acre parcel of land known as "Wardropp" on the north side of South River, to be divied equally when they reach the age of 18 years.
William Maccubbin, was first a lieutenant, and afterward captain in the Colonial Militia of Maryland.

i. Eleanor Maccubbin was born 1708 in Anne Arundel, Md., and died in March of 1779 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. She married John Brewer IV 1727, son of John Brewer III and Dinah Battee. He was born on 7 May 1709 in All Hallows Parish, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, and died on 25 November 1754 in Brandywine Hundred, Newcastle County, Delaware.
ii. John Maccubbin was born on 28 August 1709 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, and died about 1782. He married Martha Ridgely about 1731, daughter of William Ridgely and Jane Westfall. She was born about 1704 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
