Will (in Latin) of Richard Makernesse or Makyrnesse was proved June 1474, mentions his wife Felicia and one of his Executors was Edward Saunders who married Richard?s daughter Joan Makernes, but it only states he left his three sons 4d each. It did not name each son, but he had already given them Manor Houses and land in his lifetime.

John Andrewe* (living Sawbridge 1391)'s son, Richard (I) witnessed deeds in 1416, 1418, 1421, 1422 and 1439, and in 1433 was joint tenant with Thomas Carter of the rectory of Wolfhampcote.29 By 1465-6, they had been replaced by Thomas Andrewe (I) and Richard Makernesse. In 1444, Richard (I) [Andrewe, presumably] transferred his lands in the east Warwickshire villages of Sawbridge, Flecknoe, Walcote, Willoughby, Dunkirk, Toft and Newton to feoffees for his son John (II).
