About William Maclellan, 4th Lord Kirkcudbright
William, fourth Lord Kirkcudbright, who succeeded to nothing but an empty title, and dying a child soon after his father, the honours devolved upon James MacLellan, the next heir-male, being nephew to John [Auchlane] the third lord.
Biographical Summary
"William, fourth Lord Kirkcudbright, who did not long enjoy the title, as he died 29 March 1668, a minor and unmarried. During his lifetime the whole estate of his father was seized by creditors.
