Sir Richard Maunsell, Knight., of Oxwich, Penrice,and Scurlage Castles, who died in 1435, and as per Inquisition held in 1440,held with other estates the lands of Necleston, Co. Hereford , from John de Mowbray, Duke of Norfolk. He married Elizabeth, daugher of Gilbert Turbeville, of Penline, son of Tomkyn, son Hamon and had Issue.

1- John Maunsell, who married Cecily, daughter and heir of Sir William Cantelupe, of Cantelupestown Castle, Gower, by the daughter and heir of Sir Roger Unfraville, Knight Lord of Penmarsh, by Isabel, Widow of Howel ap Vychon Howel, and daughter of William Beauchamp, Earl of Warwick, deriving fro the royal house of Plantagenet. He died in his fathers lifetime, leaving issue a son, Viz.:

       (A)  Phillip, who in 1435 succeeded to his grandfather's estates

2 - 'William of Mansellfield, Gower', married Jane daughter of Thomas ap Bevan Gwin ap Howell Melyn and had Issue, Viz.:

1- 'Morgan Mansellfield, Gower', who married Jane, daughter of Richard Box, and had issue, viz,:

(A)- ' Son, David Mansellfield, Gower', who married Catherine, daughter of Philip Cradoc, of Cheriton, and had issue; viz,:

1 - 'Elizabeth Mansellfield, Gower' married Ress ap Evan ap Ynys y Maerdy, father of Leyson Price, of Britton. Ferry; from whose descendants of that property came into the Maunsell Family ( see page 24)

2' - Margaret, Mansellfield, Gower', married Griffiths Thomas, of Llandemore

3' - Alice Mansellfield, Gower', died unmarried
