Old Time Citizen Dead
W. H. MAYES of Pryor, 78 years of age, passed to the Great Beyond in Claremore last Saturday at the home of his daughter Mrs. W. W. BRYAN. Mr. MAYES' death came after an illness of several months.
The body, accompanied by relatives was taken to Pryor Sunday where the remains were laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery.
William H. MAYES, commonly known as "Tip" as is well known in the history of the Cherokee nation being a brother of two former chiefs, Joel and Sam.
