William Middleton

William Middleton (1), 1812-1905, was a coachman at Abberton Lodge, near Colchester. The house is now a retirement home. He married Susannah Hazell. William (2) was born there on 22 July 1842.

The family was in Mill Street, Colchester in 1847 when Frances was born, and at that time William (1) was described as a cab proprietor.

Later still, the family was at the Osborne Hotel in Clacton, which Bill said (1985) was still standing.
