"MANSON LUMBER MAN DIES AT HIS HOME" Thurs 21 Feb 1918 W.C. Moody of Manson died suddenly last week at his home in Manson. Death occured while Mr. Moody was at home alone and it was twenty-four hours afterward before he was found.

Mr. and Mrs. Moody had gone to Fort Dodge a week ago Sunday to be present at their granddaughter's birthday party and to visit their daughters, Mrs. Ed Townsend and Mrs. Wheeler. Mr. Moody returned home alone Monday, expecting to go back to Fort Dodge Thursday.

Mr. Moody had made his plans known to Joe Ehrishman, who works for him in the lumber yard and when his employer did not appear Friday, Mr. Ehrisman thought he had carried out his intentions to go to Fort Dodge. However, when Mr. Moody didn't come back on the evening train Friday, Mrs. Ehrisman telephoned to Fort Dodge and was informed that Mr. Moody had not been there.

Mr. Ehrissman, Mr. Dieman and Charles Baker forced an entrance into the Moody home and found Mr. Moody lying on his face in bed. Physicians said he had been dead for twenty-four hours. He had packed his grip and had taken a bath preparatory to leaving town when he became ill.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternnon from the house, Masons had charge of the services at the cemetery.

The death of Will C. Moody of Manson, which occured some time last Thursday evening, was a great shock to the people of that city. He was found dead, lying on his face in the bath room at his home, and was alone at the time, his wife being in Fort Dodge visiting with her daughter.

Mr. Moody was about 65 years of age and has been in business in Manson for thirty-five years. The past few years he has been manager of the Citizens Lumber Co. He leaves his wife and three daughters. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon.
