WILLIAM MOORE
William Moore and his wife Ann (born Duff, sometimes spelled Dove or Dough) were also 1820 Settlers. They were married at St. Martin's-in-the-field, Westminster, London on 28 October 1792. They, with their 2 children, Eleanor, 19 and William, 25 also sailed from England in the "Zoroaster" on 12 February 1820 but as members of the “Wait-Barker Party”. William was 44 and Ann 48. Like their fellow passenger, George Rye, they thus also arrived at Simon's Bay on 30 April 1820 and were transhipped to the “Albany” for the voyage to Algoa Bay, where they arrived on 15 May 1820. William Moore and his son, William, were both shoemakers. They initially went to Clanwilliam in the Western Cape.
