About William Munro, 12th Baron of Foulis
From Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Munro,_12th_Baron_of_Foulis
Sir William Munro of Foulis (died 1505) was a Scottish Knight and Scottish clan chief of the highland Clan Munro. He is by tradition the 12th Baron of Foulis and 15th overall chief of the clan.[1] However he is actually only the 5th chief of the Clan Munro who can be proved by contemporary evidence.
Sir William Munro was the king’s Lieutenant and Justicary of Inverness and the Earldom Ross.[2]
He was the eldest son of John Munro, 11th Baron of Foulis, a Crown Chamberlain.
'[1][2] William Munro as heir to his father was given sasine of his lands in 1491 as recorded by contemporary documents, the Munro Writs of Foulis.[2] William is said to have been knighted by king James IV of Scotland and appears in a document as "Sir" William in 1503.[2]

THE BATTLE OF ACHNASHELLACH 1505
Little is known about this conflict, except that tradition states the men of Clan Cameron took part in an expedition to the country of the MacKays in Sutherland and that they defeated a joint force of MacKays and Munros. Sir William Munro of Foulis, Justiciary and Lieutenant of Inverness and the Earldom of Ross was killed at Achnashellach by "Ewen McAllan Vicoldui," referring to Ewen Cameron, XIII Captain and Chief of Clan Cameron. Clan Munro records that Sir William was on "King's business" at this battle.
