William Nelson, of Penrith

William Nelson and his wife, Bridget, were listed on a Nelson monument formerly in the Penrith Churchyard. In 1704, Bishop Nicolson, visited the church and noted what was listed: "Here lyeth also the body of William Nelson, third Son who died upon the 28th of October 1670 aged 49 years: And also Bridget his wife who died upon the 18th of Dec. 1670, aged 50 years."
