- 1 FLOYD PIONEER DIES AT OSAGE WILLIAM J. NIMS, 85, FIRST WHITE CHILD BORN IN FLOYD COUNTY
Osage – William J. Nims, 85, the first white child born in Floyd county, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James Casey, Tuesday morning.
He was born in Floyd County November 9, 1854. He was married in 1875.
Thirty years ago they moved to Osage to make their home. Since his wife's death two years ago, he had made his home with his daughter. Surviving are his daughter and two sons H. W. Nims of Norfolk, Nebraska and Max of Floyd County. Funeral services will probably be held Thursday afternoon.
