' William Paulett, Viscount St. John was born in 1587/88. He was the son of William Paulett, 4th Marquess of Winchester and Lady Lucy Cecil.1 He married Hon. Mary Browne, daughter of Anthony Maria Browne, 2nd Viscount Montagu and Jane Sackville, before 17 February 1613/14.2 He died in August 1621.
' He gained the title of Earl of Wiltshire. He was styled as Viscount St. John between 1598 and 1621.

William Paulet, 4th Marquess of Winchester (bef. 1560 – 4 February 1628) was the son of William Paulet, 3rd Marquess of Winchester and Agnes Howard. He married Lady Lucy Cecil, daughter of Sir Thomas Cecil, 1st Earl of Exeter and Dorothy Neville. Lucy and William had six children:
