About William Payne, {Australian Immigrant}
William owned both a farm and a grocery store which was a great achievement for someone who had first hand experience of the Axbridge Workhouse (poorhouse). After William's premature death, his sons ran the farm and his daughter, Sarah, took responsibility for the grocery store.
