Divorced January 1951, No Children. William Wesley Peneton, 86, of West Lafayette, died on Tuesday, 24 Aug. 2010, at Indiana Veterans' Home, after a battle with cancer. Born 2 Sept. 1923, in Lafayette, he was the son of the late James E. and Mabel Bell [McGlothlin] Peneton. He was a 1942 graduate of Jefferson High School and attended Purdue University. He served in the Navy as a medic from 27 Oct. 1942, to 11 Jan. 1946. His second wife, Amelia M. [Weiler] Peneton, preceded him in death on 22 April 2010. They were married on 18 April 1953. Mr. Peneton worked at Duncan Meter Co. and was a member of the Battle Ground Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Battle Ground United Methodist Church, American Legion and 40&8. He enjoyed woodcarving, reading, the outdoors, and visits from family and friends. He donated his body to IU Medical Center for Medical Research. Amelia was the love of his life. Thank you to Indiana Veterans' Home for the care given to Bill during his stay.
