Mary was visiting her friend Dorothy McDonough who lived on Main Street near Ted's Dinner and it was 9 o'clock at night and she told adolly to watch and make sure she got across the street o.k. as a man was crossing also.We lived on North Bow as Papa just died and Mama lost the home on West St and we were on 54 No.Bow St.thanks to cousin Ray working at Draper Mills to get the apartment for us.As Mary started across the street she was hit by a motor cycle and was sent flying up in the air to the top of the Town Hall.She was 18 years old and died of a skull fracture,fractures of the elbow and the right leg.Her shoe and glasses were fouhd on St.Mary's School Property. 22 year old Richard Mead was the operator of the motorcycle,his family and ours were and still are friends.The Bearers were were Cousins William Riley John Sullivan,David O'Keef,William Ryanand close friends Louis Gorman and Francis McDonough at St.Mary's Church Brother John came home from fBoston where he worked in Children's Hospital as a Cook to take charge of Mama.
