William Albert "Al" Puckett Jr, father

Definitely born William Albert Puckett Junior. I received his birth certificate. He was still William on the 1940 census when he was living his mother, Virginia, and David. His father "Bert" was living by himself on that census in April of 1940. Dad must have changed name to Albert William Puckett late 1940 because he graduated from high school in 1941 as Albert and when he joined the Navy in 1943, he was Albert William. Not sure if it was done legally or just started referring himself to Albert.

Also, Vernon Porth said all the Miller girls called him J.R. (not junior, the letters J and R.) I talked to Uncle David in Oct of 2015 and he also mentioned Dad was called J.R. as a kid.
