William Robbins, the second of that name to live in Walpole, was born about 1682, probably in Reading. His parents removed, in 1691, to Dedham territory that later became Walpole and he continued to reside in that town during his life of 88 years. He was an active citizen at the time of incorporation and was on many of the early committees.

William Robbins married [bef. 1704, Jan. 7, 1703?] Hannah. daughter of Thomas and Mary (Fisher) Clap, who was born, Jan. 28, 1679/80, in Walpole (Dedham).
