About William Magruder Selby
After William Magruder's death in1783, Martha, and many of her children went to Adair Co., Ky. (then Greene Co. Ky). She died ca. 1806 in Adair Co., after giving power of attorney to her son in law, Nicholas Naylor and soon after selling her land in Adair co.., 104 acres, to Henry Culver (Adair Co. Land Bk A, p. 347)
William Magruder wrote his will on 28 Feb. 1773, probated 21 Jan. 1783, giving his sons: Grubby Thicket to William Wilson Selby; land bought of William Beall divided between Samuel and James Wilson Selby; 50 ares of Chews Folly to Nathen; 50 acres of Chews Folly to Joshuway Wilson Selby; the rest of Chews Folley divided between Josiah Selby and Lingan Wilson Selby; to wife: negro girl. the first child of the negro girl to son Samuel and the second to son Nathan, the third to son Joshuway Wilson Selby and at Mrtha's death the wench and her increse to son William wilson selby. Rewt of estate, after debts paid and widow's third taken out, to be divided between son Thomas and four daughters, Martha, Sarh, Elizabeth and Mary. Wife, Martha and son William wilson executors.
