About William Shippen, Proctor of Oxford University (1664)
Studied and graduated at University Colleges, Oxford, receiving his B.A. in 1656 and his M.A. in 1659. He was afterward Proctor of the University, 1664; Rector of Stockport in Chesire; and was the author of "The Christians Triumph Over Death", a sermon preached at the funeral of Richard Leigh, Esq.
