This William Simmons (Son of John Simmons and Dianah Herbert) has been associated via the internet with a number of wives. Sarah Brown, Patience Sarah Brown, Mary Patience Garrett and Mary Simmons. However, a number of documents record his spouse as simply Patience Simmons- no maiden name.

6. Polly Simmons married 13 Aug 1812, in Putman Co., GA, to Henry Williamson. She married second to Silus Mathers.
7. Henry Simmons married 17 Jan 1813, in Putman Co., GA, to Suzy Gonad.
8. Melinda Simmons, born 1796, married 8 Apr 1814, in Putman Co., GA, to Basil "Brazzel" Smith. Melinda & her husband, Basil Smith also went to Pike Co., MS for a while, but before too long moved down to the Rapides Parish, where they lived out their lives and died there. Burial: Amiable Cemetery, Glenmora, Rapides Parish, Louisiana (Bazzell/Basil Smith is the son of the John Smith who married Melinda's sister, Nancy Simmons but of the first wife for John Smith named Prudence Barron, daughter of William Barron and Prudence Davis of Wilkes Co., GA[3]
9. Rachel Simmons was born c 1797 and died Aft. 1850 in Tallapoosa Co., AL.. She married JOHN MCKISSACK April 16, 1815, in Putnam Co., GA, son of JOHN MCKISSACK and JANE HUDSON. He was born c 1785 in TN. and died Aft. 1850 in Tallapoosa Co., AL.
10. William "Buck" Harrison Simmons born 1797, married 13 Nov 1823, in Jasper Co., GA, to Mary Walker, and died Aft. 1860 in Pike Co., MS. William H. Simmons was buried "somewhere around the old John Ellzey place" near the Smithsburg Community (Silver Springs)
11. Sanders W. Simmons married 16 Sep 1824, in Jasper Co., GA, Nancy Walker.
