About William Symonson

I have a little problem with him passing in Duxbury Ma. in 1603. The Pilgrims did not arrive until 1620. Duxbury was founded after that.

Duxbury founded in 1637, was named by Myles Standish after Duxbury Woods in his home town of Chorley, Lancashire, Great Britian. Settled by the Pilgrims Myles Standish, and John Alden in 1624, Duxbury was incorporated in 1637. Duxbury is primarily a residential community on the Atlantic coast in Plymouth County Massachusetts.

Walter G. Ashworth

Both he and his son Moses were born in the Netherlands and died in Mass. USA. So Moses Jr, must have immigrated as a child.

MOSES’ PARENTS – There is a discrepancy on Moses’ parentage. L A C Robinson quotes England and
Holland Pilgrims 555.609, and NE Reg 63:201, saying Moses' father was Moses Symonson, born Leyden about
1570, and his mother was Lydia Holland, born Devonshire England about 1574.
On a separate FGR form, Ms Robinson quotes a family record and Boston Trans, Volume 22, page 64, and
Volume 23, page 34, for the information we use in our database – William and Ann Symonson of Leyden.
