William "Ross" Terrell was the son of Aaron Terrell and Annie Woodall Terrell Hendricks. He was of Cherokee descent and had the following brother and sisters: Triphena Terrell Adair, Mary "Molly" Terrell Owens, and Andrew Terrell (all are buried at Hendricks Cem.)

He had the following half-siblings: George Hendricks, Richard F. Hendricks, Susanne Hendricks, and Mary "Molly" Hendricks. (Father was Franklin Hendricks).

He married Dula Stanley Terrell buried at Hendricks Cem.) in Jan. 1899; they had two children: Betty Anna Terrell Simms Martin and a son Robert who died in infancy (both buried at Hendricks Cem.)

He joined the Methodist Church in 1916.
