About William Trevor-Roper
GEDCOM Note
Educated at Ruthin School, Shrewsbury and Oxford. Charles James Trevor-Roper served as Justice of the Peace, High Sheriff of Flintshire and Honorary Colonel of the Sixth Battalion, King's Royal Rifle Corps. He was "a strong Conservative" and "a pronounced Churchman", and appears to have been very popular and respected in the local area.
He married Lucy Anne Aldersey (1823-1871) in 1854, and his second wife Julia Maria Kortright in 1873. He inherited the Plas Teg estate at the death of his father, though he did not take up residence there until 1878.
Charles James left no surviving children, and the Plas Teg estate passed to his nephew Charles Cadwaladr Trevor-Roper at his death in 1901.
