About William Turk, of Banks County
Biography
William Turk, born 1744 in Ireland; came with his parents James and Mary Turk to America, and settled, 1757, in South Carolina. Served in the Revolutionary War in General Pickens Staff of South Carolina as his Express Bearer or Courier. William married 3 March 1784, Margaret Archibald of North Carolina. They had four children. He died April 10, 1795 in Franklin County, Georgia.
