William Wallace

WILLIAM WALLACE

William Wallace, here treated, is the son of William Wallace of Elderslie. His father died in March 1549. He and his older brother, William Wallace of Elderslie, together with their father's wife Joneta Shaw, were nominated as executors when his father made his last will and testament on 19 March 1549. Joneta Shaw was married to William Wallace of Elderslie at the time of his death but she is not specifically said to be the mother of either of his sons. Mistaken Identification

The Book of Wallace suggests that William Wallace, here treated, may be the grandson, rather than the son of William Wallace of Elderslie. The Book of Wallace, p.25
