U.S. Navy - World War II WRIGHT, William L.PONCHATOULA, LOUISIANA: William Lee "Bill" Wright, 82, died November 24, 1982 at the VA Medical Center in New Orleans. He served with the Seabees during World War II, and was an electrician's mate in the U.S. Navy Reserve. Survivors include a niece, Betty Jane Rouh; and five nephews, Albert and Ronald Wright, Frank Sherman, and Raymond and Lawrence Benfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Alice Akers Wright;two brothers, Albert Lee and Thomas Leon Wright; and three sisters, Minerva Sherman Benfield, Libby Alice Wright, and Witte Wright Weiss. Burial was at Sandhill Cemetery by Thomas Funeral Home.
