10 Jan 1697: Will of William Young of South Farnham Parish, 30 Nov 1697, proved 10 Jan 1697/98: To daughter Catherine Young; "the full & just Sum of fivetie pounds Sterling to be paid Twelve moneths after the said Catherine's marriage." To daughter Elizabeth Young "the full sume of one hundred pounds sterling to bee pd at two equall paiments thus, fifetie pounds, at the expiration of the first yeare after shee is married and fivetie pounds at ye expiration of the next yeare after ye sd marriage." To "these four my Daughters Anne Covington, Sarah Mottram, Mary Coutancouau, and Catherine Young, all that money and goods of mine that lies in England or elsewhere out of Virginia, to bee equally divided betwixt the said Daughters and likewise twenty-four thousand pounds of good scented tobaccoe and casq to bee equalley divided betwixt them and paid by my Sonne William Young at eight thousand per annum and that the whole payment bee ended or compleated within three years". To son William Young "all ye rest of my estate both Personall and reall, moveable and immoveable. "I constitute or appoint my said Sonne William one of my Executors, as alsoe Richard Covington, Spencer Mottram, and Peter Coutanceau, to bee Executors with my sd sonne...till he shall arrive to ye age of twenty one years." Witness: John Ball, Robert Lumpkin and Richard Collert. Proved 10 January 1697. Will also mentions that daughters are to buy a Negro slave for Mary, wife of Richard Carter. Deed and Will Bk 9, P 139.
