Willie was a Piaute man from the Walker River Paiute Tribe (Northern Paiute Bands)

The tribe represents two Northern Paiute bands, the larger Aga'idökadö (Agai Ticutta) ("Cutthroat trout Eaters") and the smaller Pakwidökadö (Pugwi Ticutta) ("Chub carp Eaters").

Many Paiute were still living in their traditional Kahuee at the turn of the century

Biography:
Willie George was born c. 1895 to parents WE To Noh 'Henry' George (b. 1858) and his wife Sallie NN (b. 1863)

According to Carla Joinson in her book Vanished in Hiawatha, Willie was admitted to the Canton Asylum on November 15, 1917, from the Walker River Reservation and diagnosed with Constitutional psychopath, hysterical, nymphomania. (Nymphomania is a term reserved for women, how it is applied has not been explained. This diagnosis does NOT come from the Joinson book!) (In the early 20th century, the term "constitutional psychopath" was used to describe people who violated social norms or were considered socially undesirable. The term "constitutional psychopath" was a catch-all term for psychological behaviors that were so pervasive that they were thought to have genetic or congenital origins. A constitutional psychopath is not technically insane, but their abnormality is present from birth.)

Willie was reported to have died in the Canton Asylum on November 18, 1919, at the age of 24. According to the letter from Dr. L.L. Culp to the Commissioner of Indian Affairs dated February 23, 1934, Willie was buried in the Canton Hiawatha Cemetery tier 1 plot 78.
