Willis Lloyd Staples

STAPLES, Willis Lloyd December 12, 1965-August 24, 2006 Willis's death in a

tragic accident has left a hole in all our hearts. Missing him are his

loving wife, Sally and his much-loved children Hannah, Sam and Sydney;

sister Lorinda Staples, brother-inlaw Michael Shaw, nephew Gabriel and brand

new niece Abigail; sister Adrianne Creighton and her children Lindsay,

Sarah, and Will; parents-inlaw Michael and Penny Holmes; brother-in-law

Julian Holmes, his wife Tracy, and their sons Kyle, Ryan and Tyler. Willis

will be sorely missed by his aunts and uncles who helped raise him after his

father's sudden death when Willis was 15, and by his many cousins who loved

him like a brother. Willis will be irreplaceable at Victor School as a

Special Student Assistant, where he was loved and respected by the students

and staff alike, and at Vancouver Island Autistic Homes where his gentle

humour was such an asset with the residents and his co-workers. Willis's

sudden death has left a huge gap in the lives of his friendsthey will truly

miss his loyalty, wit and calmness. We are deeply moved and very grateful

for the love and support shown to the family by Willis's and Sally's

co-workers, friends and neighbours. Friends and family are invited to visit

with Willis and his family on Wednesday, August 30, from 5-7 p.m. at Sands

Funeral Chapel, 1803 Quadra Street. After his cremation, we will honour

Willis and remember him with love and affection at a memorial service on

Friday, September 8 starting at 3pm at Garden City United Church (4054 Carey

Road). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your
