Wilma Trudell
Wilma E. Tate Trudell, 92, McLouth, died Sept. 25, 2006, at Hickory Pointe Care Center, Oskaloosa.
She was born Nov. 7, 1913, in Arma, the daughter of Andrew Streeter and Nannie Bloomer Leonard. She had lived in McLouth since 1938. She worked at Key Clothing in Fort Scott from 1930 to 1931. She then worked as a cook for the McLouth school district for 10 years, retiring in 1979.She was a member of the McLouth United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, McLouth Senior Citizens, and the Happy Hour Club.
She married George Noah Tate Dec. 20, 1931, at Kansas City, Mo. He preceded her in death Oct. 25, 1967. She married Delmer Trudell June 2, 1973. He preceded her in death Dec. 30, 1980. Survivors include a son, George Leonard Tate, Basehor; a daughter, Ruth Lorene Willits, McLouth; one stepdaughter, Gerre King, McLouth; a brother, William Leonard, McPherson; eight grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 15 stepgreat-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and eight stepgreat-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Leonard, Bertha Werholtz; two brothers, Lloyd Leonard and John Leonard.
Services were Sept. 29 at the McLouth United Methodist Church. Burial was at the McLouth Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the McLouth United Methodist Church and sent in care of Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, PO Box 416, Oskaloosa, 66066.
