OSKALOOSA — Wilmer G . Harvey, 74, of Fort Collins, Colo., formerly of Oskaloosa, died Oct. 9, 2004, at Spring Creek Rehabilitation Center, Fort Collins, Colo.
He was born Dec. 22, 1929 to Clarence Wilmer and Myrna Campbell Harvey in Kansas City, Kan. He married Linnie Brown July 26, 1957 in Oskaloosa. She preceded him in death Aug. 10, 1998.
He was a 1948 graduate of Wyandotte High School, a 1954 graduate of Kansas State Teaching College, Emporia, Kan. with a BA in Education, and a Northeast Missouri State University graduate with a Master’s degree in Education. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953. He moved to Oskaloosa in 1964 and taught 28 years at Garfield Elementary School, sixth grade, retiring in 1992. He was also a fifth and sixth grade basketball coach. He was a member of the Oskaloosa Education Association and the Iowa State Teachers Association, member of the YMCA’s Y’s Men’s Club and member of the Kiwanis Club. He was also a member, elder and Sunday school superintendent at the First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include children, Edwin G. Harvey of Chesterfield, Mo., David G. Harvey of Blairstown, NJ. and Michael R. Harvey of Fort Collins, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and brother, Eldon Harvey of Dodge City. Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and son, Steven Harvey.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church, Oskaloosa. Burial will be at Halferty Cemetery, near Ollie.
Visitation will begin noon Wednesday at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel, Oskaloosa with the family present from 6-8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Oskaloosa.

OSKALOOSA — Linnie Harvey, 63, of Oskaloosa, died on Aug. 10, 1998, at the Mahaska County Hospital.
She was born June 25, 1935, in Ollie to Willard and Alice Michener Brown. She married Wilmer Harvey on July 26, 1957, in Oskaloosa.
She graduated from Ollie High School in 1953. She graduated from William Penn College in 1968. She taught elementary school in Oskaloosa at Jefferson, Lincoln and Whittier, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Women, D.A.R., Yahtzee Club, Mahaska County Historical Society, Utopian Circle, P.W. Presbyterian Women's School, National Education Association, Iowa State Education Association, and the Oskaloosa Education Association. She was also a member and president of People to People and was a deacon and Sunday school teacher at the Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband; three sons, Ed of Chesterfield, Mo., the Rev. David of Blairstown, N.J.; and Mike of Fort Collins, Colo.; seven grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence Brown of Abington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son in infancy, Steven.
Services will be 10 a.m. today at the First Presbyterian Church in Oskaloosa, the Revs. Hans Cornelder and David Harvey officiating. Burial will be at the Halferty Cemetery near Ollie. Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Oskaloosa.
