About Wilson Rawson
Wilson was the son of The Rev. Grindal Rawson and Susanna Wilson, born 23 June 1692 at Mendon, Massachusetts.[1]
Wilson married Margaret Arthur on 4 May 1712.[2] They were the parents of eight children: Wilson, Thomas, Priscilla, Mary, Grindal, Edward, Stephen and Paul.[3][4]
Wilson was a farmer and remained in Mendon, along with his family, all of his life. The Annals of Mendon only mention him once, when he drew lots for the 7th Division of the town on February 16, 1719.[5]
His death came December 1, 1726, at the age of 34. After his death, his son Thomas was placed under the guardianship of Thomas' uncle, Benjamin Reynolds.[6]
Wilson's remains were likely laid to rest in the Old Cemetery at Mendon; if so, however, the stone has been lost and the grave is now unmarked.[7]
Wilson's wife, Margaret, remarried. Margaret died many years later at the age of about sixty-six.
