About Wintje Theunis Crankheyt

On 16 Nov 1642 Wyntie Tuenis married Herck Siboutszen in New Amsterdam Reformed Church

Henricus Sibelszen, j.m., van Langendyck, en Marritje Theunis, j.d., Van Naerden. Born ca 1620 in Langedijke (Oostellingwerf) Friesland.

Herck died ca 1681/1684.262 Occupation: ship carpenter. Religion: Huguenot.

Herck and Wyntje lived in New Amsterdam until 1654 when they moved to the Arme Bouwery at Hell gate, then a part of Newtown, LI. While he went by the name of Sybouts and his children by the patronymic Hercx, his grandchildren adopted the surname Krankheit.263

Langedijke, also spelled Langedyck, is a hamlet about a mile south of Oosterwolde in the west of Friesland very close to province of Drenthe.

Herck had a farm in the Arm Bowery by the Hell’s Gate, then part of Newtown, Long Island. He received a patent for his land in Newtown 2 Jul 1754 and was a freeholder there in 1666.262
