Wolfgang Michael-Meyer was born and grew-up in Rheda, near Bielefeld, in Germany. He became an artist, studying under Hermann Struck, and worked in illustration and ceramics. In 1937 the family managed to immigrate to Palestine. In Haifa, he taught architecture and design. He also set up the Department of Ceramics at the Technion School in Haifa. He also worked as a stone-mason, and started the ceramics department of the Na'aman Company. His sculptures can still be seen in various locations in Israel. In 1963 he moved and continued his career in London.
