Mariann Rammo: "From National Archives of Estonia I found out that Wolf von Grünewaldt got permission to leave Estonia to England or Germany 20.10.1924 and he left Estonia 15.11.1924. As he was reserve officer, but did not show up, police and military was looking for him even in 1937.

According to UK and Ireland Outward Passenger Lists 1890 - 1960 (digitalized in Ancestry unfortunately, I don´t know how to download from there) W. von Grünewaldt departed from England on ship Tanganjika in Dec 4th (or 8th) 1924 to Durban harbour in South Africa.

In 1934 W. von Grünewaldt sent note to Estonian Defence Ministry through his lawyer that his place of residence is Transvaal, South - Africa (documents in National Archive in Estonia)

I also found refrence to microfilm in National Archives of Pretoria no 3475/49 (Estates Death Notice Index 1855 - 1976). According to this W. von Grünewaldt did die in 1949 but there was no exact date of death."
