About Woodrow Wilson Dixon

Mr. Woodrow Wilson Dixon, age 74, 711 Church Street, Vidalia, Ga., died in the Augusta Veterans Hospital Sunday, February 28, 1988 following a brief illness.

The Montgomery County native was the son of James Ira and Anna Harrell Dixon and had spend most of his life in Vidalia. He was a retired construction superintendent for J.T. Goggins Construction Co., a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church, a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Todd-Dickerson American Legion Post.

Mr. Dixon is survived by his wife, Margaret Rockett Dixon; three sons, Bob Dixon, Winder, Bonny Dixon, Hawkinsville and Jimmy Dixon, Vidalia; two brothers, Ira Dixon, Rosemead, CA and Lige Dixon, Vidalia; Six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Dixon were held in the Murchison Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, March 1, 1988 at 4:00 PM with Rev. Jim Headley officiating, assisted by Rev. Michael Allen. Interment followed in Pinecrest Cemetery. Murchison Funeral Home of Vidalia was in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers were Jeffery Stevens, Brent Dixon, Greg Dixon, Ryan Dixon, Johnny Dixon, Jake Strickland, Chuck Rockett and Charles Chapman.
