About Yechaya ben Jonas Scheyen

Per Micheline Gutmann, his name was Yeshaya Jonas and he was from Holland. He was the second husband of Sara Weil. Yeshaya = Scheyen.

Micheline: "Your Sara was the daughter of Jacob Betzalel Moche ( in the book of marriages in Alsace from AA FRAENCKEL, she married twice and it seems that you are concerned by the second husband Yeshaya Jonas (came from Holland)..."

We need to look into the connection with Holland!

Micheline Gutmann (Jan 22, 2016): "I have done a difficult work about the Weyl of Westhoffen in order to put some order between the two principal families of WEYL and to attribute a place to each couple. There were two branches, perhaps two brothers( but is it said nowhere), where it was possible to find the same first names. I can say that the branch of Sara who married Yeshaya or Scheyen Jonas was not the same branch as Jeroen 's. Scheyen Jonas had at least one sister and 3 brothers and they came from Holland. One of them was rabbi Abraham Jonas Hollander (died on 1 May 1808 at Obernai, burried cem Rosenwiller)."

Since the names that various researchers came up with have a discrepancy, needs more research and verification. [Hatte Blejer, January 22, 2016]
